Accessibility

Â鶹ÊÓƵ is committed to ensuring accessibility for people with disabilities.

Guiding Principles for Accessibility

It is our desire for all members of the Hope community to say:

  • I can get there
  • I can particpate
  • I can access all information

Web Accessibility Policy

Hope affirms the dignity of every person as a creature made in the image of God and thus worthy of our earnest respect and inclusion. Additionally, as a recipient of Federal financial assistance, we work to comply with all related Federal laws. Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, 29 U.S.C. § 794, and its implementing regulation at 34 C.F.R. Part 104, prohibit discrimination on the basis of disability.

Disability and Accessibility Resources

The Office of Disability and Accessibility Resources offers services that are individualized to ensure reasonable accommodations for students with documented disabilities, to promote and support students in self-advocacy, and to educate faculty, staff and students about disabilities.

Events and Programs

Event and program accommodation requests related to a disability should be made by the host department as early as possible. View ECO’s event accessibility resources online.

The Accessibility Task Force will receive requests for disability accommodations from visitors, community members, and program participants when needed to fully participate in college-sponsored events and programs. To request disability accommodations for events, please email accessibility@hope.edu. (Enrolled students requesting academic and housing accommodations will continue to make requests through Disability and Accessibility Resources.)

If you or your department are developing marketing materials for events and programs, please include the following language: "To inquire about accessibility or if you need accommodations for a disability to fully participate, please email accessibility@hope.edu."

Centralizing our efforts ensures that the Accessibility Task Force can continue to work collaboratively with campus departments and offices to address accessibility needs, gather data, and improve processes.
