麻豆视频 will host a unique performance featuring Russian pianist Vyacheslav Gryaznov, showcasing his work with his own G-Phil project, on Wednesday, May 14, at 7 p.m. in the Concert Hall of the Jack H. Miller Center for Musical Arts.
The public is invited. Admission is free.
Gryaznov created G-Phil to help musicians of all levels practice and perform with a virtual orchestra made with software instruments that can respond to the pianist鈥檚 tempo preferences and even change during a performance. Artists can select certain movements to perform with or work with an entire piece.
Gryaznov will be using this tool to provide orchestral accompaniment, performing Maurice Ravel鈥檚 鈥淧iano Concerto for the Left Hand鈥�; George Gershwin鈥檚 鈥淩hapsody in Blue鈥�; and Gryaznov鈥檚 own composition, 鈥淩hapsody in Black.鈥�
Gryaznov, a pianist, arranger and composer, is the author of more than 40 concert arrangements. Since 2014, he has had a publishing contract with Schott Music. He has two recordings: a 2021 recording of 鈥淲estern Transcriptions鈥� on the Master Performers label, and a 2018 recording of 鈥淩ussian Transcriptions鈥� on the Steinway & Sons label. The latter recording was underwritten as part of his first prize at the New York Concert Artists Worldwide Audition in 2016.
Gryaznov graduated with honors from the Central Music School of the Moscow State Conservatory, where he studied with Professor Manana Kandelaki. He proceeded with undergraduate studies at the Moscow Conservatory (class of Professor Yuri Slesarev), once again completing his degree with honors. He continued at the Moscow Conservatory as a postgraduate student and was on the teaching faculty of the Moscow Conservatory鈥檚 Piano Department. In 2018, he completed Yale University鈥檚 Artist Diploma program under the Yale School of Music鈥檚 Professor Boris Berman. He is an artist of the Moscow Philharmonic and is an Artist-in-Residence with The Drozdoff Society in the United States.
