Public Historian, Professor and Bestselling Author Dr. Jemar Tisby to Host Civil Rights Lecture
The annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Civil Rights Lecture at Hope College will feature Dr. Jemar Tisby, The New York Times bestselling author of 鈥淭he Color of Compromise,鈥 at Hope College on Monday, Jan. 19, 2026, at 7 p.m. at Dimnent Memorial Chapel in Holland.

Disability Inclusion & Affirming LGBTQ+ Student Lecture Hosts 鈥淐rip Camp鈥 Screening
This year鈥檚 2025 Disability Inclusion & Affirming LGBTQ+ Student Lecture at Hope College will feature the documentary "Crip Camp: A Disability Revolution.鈥 The film shares the insight, clarity, humor and beauty about the experiences of a group of disabled young people and their journey to activism and adulthood. The documentary is scheduled for Tuesday, October 28, at 3:30 p.m. in the concert hall of the Jack H. Miller Center for Musical Arts. The public is invited and admission is free.
Hope Hosts Indigenous Peoples鈥 Lecture on Oct. 23
Carol Bremer-Bennett, executive director of World Renew, will present a lecture on 鈥淭he Power We Carry: Belonging as a Sacred Responsibility,鈥 as part of 麻豆视频鈥檚 recognition of National Indigenous Peoples鈥 observances. The lecture will be held on Thursday, Oct. 23, at 3:30 p.m. in the recital hall of the Jack H. Miller Center for Musical Arts. The public is invited and admission is free.
